Overview:

Lawrence is a Senior Engineer and Group Head at CorrSolutions, responsible for the execution and technical quality of RBI assessments and the development of the RBI engineering staff.  His role includes direct application of the API RP 580/581 methodologies, as well as oversight of their internal interpretation and implementation across projects.

In delivering RBI work, Lawrence is responsible for validating mechanical integrity data, assessing piping systems and circuits, evaluating process fluids and active/credible damage mechanism assignments, reviewing inspection history and effectiveness, leading technical discussions with plant personnel, and developing inspection plans and reports that accurately translate RBI software results into actionable inspection strategies that are consistent with the established API RP 580/581 methodologies and internal standards.

In addition to project execution, Lawrence plays a central role at CorrSolutions in training and mentoring RBI engineers, performing technical reviews, and maintaining updated internal controls to ensure consistency and repeatability of results.  While his background is in chemical engineering, his work reflects deep practical experience in mechanical integrity, inspection methods, and damage mechanisms, as well as in leading multi-disciplinary teams responsible for such high-consequence decisions.

Lawrence is the author of a technical article on uninspectable risk published in Equity’s Industry Insights, and a co-author of “A Primer on Risk-Based Inspection,” published by Inspectioneering.  These publications reflect his role in shaping how RBI methodologies are applied in situations where guidance is limited and professional judgment is required.  In both project execution and internal review contexts, Lawrence serves as the technical authority for complex RBI applications, interpretation of standards, and resolution of edge-case risk scenarios.
